Ethnocentrism

comment in the song - where is the love

This song was a meaningful song that has a great goal. This band goal was fighting racism and discrimination and want to fight hate by making people from different races love each other.

This is the song lyrics.

What's wrong with the world mama
People living like they ain't got no mama
I think the whole world's addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that will bring you trauma
Over seas, yeah, we tryin' to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here living in the USA
The big CIA, the Bloods, and the Crips and the KKK

But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And when you hate then you're bound to get irate
Madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
Man, you got to have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love y'all

[Chorus]
People killing, people dying
Children hurtin', hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Or would you turn the other cheek
Father father father father
Send some guidance from above
'Cause people got me, got me questioning
Where is the love

It just ain't the same all the ways of change
New days are strange
Is the world insane
If love and peace is so strong
Why the pieces of love don't belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering as the youth are young
So ask yourself is the lovin' really gone
So I can ask myself really what is going wrong
The world that we're living in
People keep on giving in
Making wrong decisions only visions of the dividend
Not respecting each other
Denying thy brother
A war going on, but the reasons undercover
The truth is kept secret
It's swept under the rug
If you never know truth then you never know love
Where's the love y'all, c'mon, I don't know
Where's the truth y'all, c'mon, I don't know
Where's the love y'all

[Chorus]

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm gettin' older y'all people gets colder
Most of us only care about money makin'
Selfishness got us following the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting the young minds faster than bacteria
Kids want to act like what they see in the cinemas

Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love
We spreading animosity
Lack of understanding
Leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feelin' down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feelin' under
Gotta keep our faith alive 'till love is found

[Chorus]

1.       Which types of Cultural Diversity exist at ADMC? Give an example from each of the ten categories in your table of ten. Say whether each one is a Challenge or a Benefit.

Religion: there are many people from different religions in ADMC, teachers, IT and workers from many religions, and it is benefit because we learn from them
History: there are many students and staff in ADMC came from different places have different history. And it is benefit because we know about others history.
Clothes: in ADMC most students wear kandora the tradition cloths, but some wear jeans and t shirts. And this is challenge because we have to keep our traditions.
Tradition: Every tribe in UAE has different traditions.  And this is a benefit.
Nationality: In ADMC most teachers come from many nationalities around the world. And this is a benefit because we can learn about their countries.

2.       Define and give an example of Acculturation.
Acculturation is a process in which members of one cultural group adopt the beliefs and behaviors of another group. For example many indigenous peoples, such as First Nations of Canada, Native Americans of the US, and Australian Aborigines have lost much of their traditional cultures (most evidently, languages) which have been replaced by those of the more dominant cultures

3.       Explain how child-raising in different cultures can have an effect on personality.
In some poor cultures kids have to start working in earlier age and this will make them Self-reliant. But in other rich cultures kids are spoiled and get everything they want so they don’t have self-reliance.

4.       Explain the difference between a “melting pot” and a “garden salad” related to immigration to a country such as UK, USA, Australia for example.
Melting pot is just like fuse all cultures to the host country culture, but in garden salad everyone keeps his own culture and lives with others in peace.

5.       How can Multiculturalism have a positive effect on a large company?
When a company has employees from different cultures they will share different experience and have different ways of thinking.
